Roof Coatings
Colorado Rockies’ Roof Coating Experts
Roof coatings are polymer-based liquid compounds that are either rolled or sprayed directly onto your existing roof. This unique roof product extends the life and strength of your existing roof without replacing it. It adds a layer of protection against light, water, and other elements. Roof coating is a great way to prevent cracks, corrosion, and other damage while saving up to 70% the cost of a roof replacement and receiving a full warranty. At Integrity Pro Roofing, we provide leading commercial roof coating services across Colorado Rockies.
Wondering what this looks like in real life? Here’s a case study from a roof coating job we recently completed.
Buckley Airforce Base – Aurora, CO
Type: Aged Damage
Size: 7200 SF
Money Saved: 70% the cost of a full replacement
Case Study: Property owners had an aged roof that was deteriorating and leaking in multiple areas, but could not afford an entire roof replacement.
Result: Property owners saved thousands of dollars by choosing our coating option while still protecting their assets. They now have a 10 year NDL warranty against leaking.
Repair, Not Replace: Why Roof Coating?
Save Money:
Roof Coating is 30-60% the cost of a full roof replacement while still offering the same warranty as a new roof system.
Hail and wind insurance deductibles are now between 1-5% of the value of the property. Roof coatings on average cost 2-3% the value of the property, which is under many property owners (4-5% deductibles) – so there’s no need to file an insurance claim.
Save Energy:
Energy rebates for installing a Cool Roof.
Save on energy bills from not running AC as much (white reflective roof surface).
Save the Environment:
Minimal waste factor, more eco-friendly with no dumpsters needed and no landfill waste. (Roofing materials are a top 5 material in landfills).
Save Taxes:
Additional tax benefits to the building owner (energy saving).
Full tax write off for the building owner in 1 year vs potentially amortizing over several years.
Save Disruption:
No tear-off of materials causing “Construction Zone Chaos”
Has almost no smell so business and life can carry on as usual
Integrity Pro Roofing’s Roof Coating Process
We’ll start the process with our initial free roof inspection and analysis. Our process then consists of three separate steps before the job is completed:
A thorough clean of the roof to ensure a smooth coating finish.
Coating is applied, with the type determined by your current roofing material.
Review of the finished product and discussion of maintenance options.
You provide us with your feedback so we are 100% sure that you’re satisfied with the job, as is the case with all our commercial roofing projects.
Types of Coatings That Can Be Applied
SILICONE
Silicone roof coatings protect against leaking and are ultra-sustainable. They’re easy to apply, and because they’re not water-based, they are highly water resistant by nature. A silicone roof coating can withstand ponding water and easily last 10-15 years.
ACRYLIC
Acrylic or elastomeric coatings are highly reflective and help prevent rust. It’s strong but flexible, making these acrylic coatings ideal for metal roofing because they will expand and contract with the metal. These coatings are easy to apply via a spray nozzle, making the process quicker and less labor-intensive. It’s also cost-effective, suitable for most climates, and provides the best value.
RUBBERIZED ALUMINUM
A rubber aluminum coating reflects heat and is incredibly resilient to impact. It doesn’t damage easily and can be used on built-up roofs, single ply roofs, spray polyurethane foam, and modified bitumen roofs.
POLYUREAS
Polyureas take many forms. These roof coatings provide abrasion resistance, corrosion protection, structural enhancement, chemical resistance, and waterproofing features. Polyureas are common on metal roofs, built-up roofs, single ply roofs, foam, and modified bitumen roofs.
URETHANES
A urethane roof coating is ideal for high traffic areas because it’s flexible, seamless, and durable. It can expand and contract with your roof structure. Moreover, urethanes resist water pooling, and they are more impact-resistant than many other types of coatings.
POLYURETHANES
Where urethanes are flexible, polyurethanes are stiff and rigid. Polyurethane roof coatings are impact-resistant and can handle a good amount of traffic. They are available in two variations – aromatic or aliphatic polyurethane, each with their respective merits.
